Ethiopian and Eritrean communities in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, held Candlelight Vigil for the Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians killed by ISIS in Libya.

Thiopians and Eritreans gathered at Marshall Park, Charlotte, North Carolina, to remember the Ethiopians and Eritreans killed in Libya and to condemn the self-clamed Islamic State, ISIS.

The event was honored by the presence of US congressman Robert Pittenger, 9th District, North Carolina, State Representative Dan Bishop, religious leaders from all faiths, hundreds of Ethiopians and Eritreans from the diaspora and invited guests.

Religious leaders opened the event with a short prayer in remembrance of the Victims. Congressman and representatives of faith leaders made speeches condemning the evil and brutal acts of ISIS.  A message from Mayor Dan Clodfelter was read, a poem was read by Meron Gebreab, and speakers expressed their sympathy to the families of the victims and the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea.

A book of condolence was signed at the occasion.
