TPLF’s Congress Emergency Session on Eritrea

“To our esteemed and brotherly people of Eritrea:

It is known that the peoples of Tigray and Eritrea share common language and culture. We have fought together and shared burial places in the fight against facist [fascist] Derg. The people of Tigray and TPLF supported and sacrificed in support of the right to self-determination of the people of Eritrea. However, in the past two decades, we entered into an unnecessary war and encurred [incurred] regretable [regrettable] loss. TPLF and Tigray have been trying to recitify [rectify] the matter. Even though the progress in the past one and half year was promissing [promising], it has been stalled due to unknown reasons.

We assure once again that the people of Tigray and TPLF are ready to do anything necessary to make sure the relationship continue[s] in a manner that benefits all and ensures sustainable peace. We call on the people of Eritrea to play its role for sustainable peace[.]”

  1. For the people of Tigray, there is one thing they have to do that is absolutely necessary for them, ask forgiveness from Amara people. Otherwise their misery will continue for eternity. Mark my words.

  2. The guy who published the above note under the title ‘’TPLF’s Congress Emergency Session on Eritrea’’ is funny. Look at the photo how the TPLF big shots are portrayed begging Eritrea ‘‘to hug and mend’’ long broken relationship. What TPLF wants is to merge with Eritrea, a country with an outlet to the sea and say good bye to Ethiopia. Eritreans will make a big mistake if they let this to happen because TPLF will overthrow Eritrean government and establish Tegrian rule over Eritrea. Next, they will come back to Ethiopia to occupy the entire country under the banner of unity. Nice plan, folks.

But PM Abiy Ahmed has killed this plan before it took off the ground. See what PM Abiy has done different from his predecessors on the boundary and peace issues with Eritrea. He fully accepted the terms of the Algiers peace agreement and the rulings of the Boundary commission.

If we recall, right after the Boundary Commission made its rulings in 2002, the Ethiopian government said it has in principle accepted the rulings and asked for dialogue with Eritrea regarding its implementation. Eritrea rejected dialogue.

Later on Ethiopia clarified what it meant by “acceptance of the ruling in principle” with “five – point policy” which included “give and take” of land. Eritrea again refused to have dialogue; instead, it called for the full implementation of the rulings without “give and take” and the withdrawal of Ethiopian troops from the land declared Eritrean.

Following these developments, a no peace no war situation set in which lasted for almost two decades until PM Abiy announced his full acceptance of the Algiers peace agreement and rulings of the commission. Unlike his predecessors, he has put no reservation in “principle” or conditionality which Eritrea accepted.

A while after, the countries issued joint declaration of peace and friendship stating war between the countries has come to an end. Relations between the governments and the peoples of the countries warmed up for months until Eritrea suddenly became disinterested and closed land border crossings.

No explanation was given for the sudden border closings, but insiders suggest that Eritrean leaders felt to have been tricked into public relations exercise by PM Abiy who had no power to implement the boundary rulings. His attempt to withdraw the army from Eritrean territory was unsuccessful because TPLF was unwilling to cooperate. TPLF is stuck in the “five-point policy” and “give and take” of land which Eritrea has still rejected with no interest to compromise.

Though implementation of the boundary is technically concerns Ethiopia and Eritrea as sovereign states, Eritrea has realized that it has – sooner or later – to take it up with TPLF. Abey’s full acceptance of the boundary rulings has made clear no Ethiopian will shed blood to protect land decided Eritrean which is currently illegally occupied by TPLF if Eritrea determines to enforce the ruling.

Eritrea’s plan is not clear if and when it will take up the border and occupied lands issue with TPLF, but signs are everywhere to see that it has no resentment on Abey and his government for not implementing the ruling. One such sign is Pres. Isaias’s recent visit to Ethiopia and agreement to open the port of Assab for Ethiopian import and export. Insiders suggest opening border crossings in Tigray has not been raised.

Given this fact, why are TPLF big shots are begging Eritrea ‘‘to hug and mend’’ long broken relationship? The best move is for TPLF to withdraw from lands ruled Eritrean and allow Eritrea to take over. How is TPLF to mend relations with Eritrea while occupying land which is not hers? I don’t think Eritreans are that stupid to allow TPLF repeat blatant cheating which it committed on Ethiopians for almost thirty years.

Eritrea! Your future is not with TPLF. If you let it, TPLF will cheat you out of your country and come back to the rest of Ethiopia to try to establish its rule for another thirty years. We Ethiopians will not allow such madness to happen, but you guys need to be careful. Your future is with us – not with TPLF.

  4. Hi brother. It seems your comment is directed to me. Believe it or not, I wrote that comment because I am concerned for the people of both Amara and Tigre as an individual. I believe that there is no other people in this world closer to Amara people than Tigre people and I do not want any fight between them. I do not think any Amara is afraid of Tigres. For your information, no Amara wants an apology from Tigres, what they want is their stolen land. The apology is my personal opinion for closure for the party who thinks they are the victims. And I have personal reason for that. I personally believe it is necessary to settle their differences in peace since this is the cheapest way especially for Tigres. Everybody knows why you people are trying to gang up with Eritreans, Kimants, Sudanese, Somalis, Egyptian, Arabs, Americans, demons , Satans, Sudanese’s magicians, terrorists, etc etc..…. Ganging up is a temporary solution and perpetuate the misery for both, especially for Tigres. Peace between the two is necessary whether Tigres become independent or join Eritrea or staying. You people should learn from your mistakes you created with Eritreans. If you keep thinking that Amaras are Tigre’s enemies and wants to keep fighting, I do not believe that will be a vacation for the Tigre people. Accumulation of looted weapons does not guarantee victory, causes more misery for sure. And also I do not believe any demonstration in foreign land has any effect back home. They will work whoever is strong and to their interest. I do not believe any screaming and yelling in foreign land escorted by well armed cops has any effect. Complete waste of time. Never heard of “Sons of zion”, but if there is, it should refer to peoples who live in the holy city. You tried to teach me about pan-east Africanism, But I do not think you have any brain to comprehend that it needs to have peace with your neighbor to create a peaceful village. Actually, you are anti-peace by birth. Like a prostitute, you sleep with anyone who may gives more money for the night. Please have a little bit of decency. Good riddance.

  8. There’s a difference between maliciously offending somebody – on purpose – and somebody being offended by…truth. If you’re offended by the truth, that’s your problem. I have no obligation to not offend you if I’m speaking the truth. The truth is supposed to offend you; that’s how you know you don’t got it.

    Brad Stine

Most of us avoid telling the truth because it’s uncomfortable. We’re afraid of the consequences-making others feel uncomfortable, hurting their feelings or risking their anger. And yet, when we don’t tell the truth, and others don’t tell us the truth, we can’t deal with matters from a basis in reality.

  9. Since you call me a magician, let me tell about you. You are an elementary school drop out joining the tegadalay but some how end up in First World with millions of loot in your account, and now have some translating business for cover in your old age. I know a couple of guys in city I live. If I am wrong forgive me, magicians make mistakes too. You are helping your community with what you know even making money out of a language you despise, so you are on top. And me, you are right I have a lot to learn, hope not from intellectuals like you though. Mr. signor, I think you have some kind of dementia going on because it was you who attacked me personally at the first place. Not skipping your Aricept is advisable. If you can not manage this by yourself, you can consult your MD for nursing home or other options, since you are living in the wealthiest country in Europe. You will able to blog your illusion a little more years.
